Let Nothing Be Wasted!

LET NOTHING BE WASTEDI

JOHN 6:1-15

INTRODUCTION: Our Lord Jesus was very big on using all that His Father had placed in His hands. After feeding the 5,000 He said: John 6:12: “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” The basic idea of letting nothing be wasted is a Biblical idea.

I. LET NOTHING BE WASTED!

We as a nation are trying to recycle just about everything, but how careful are we as Christians to recycle the spiritual blessings that our Lord has given to us?
1. Recycle Your Faith! Our faith is not something we work up, it was and is a gift from our God and we should not waste it. Ephesians 2:8-9. You might ask: “How can I waste my faith?” If we do not pass our faith on we waste it. Romans 10:14-17, Matthew 28:18-20. When we share our faith we are laboring in a work our God has promised to bless! Galatians 6:9. Don’t worry if you do not see an immediate response. Mark 5:1-17; Mark 5:18-20; Mark 7:31-36. We never know when the Gospel we share will still be bearing fruit. In fact the harvest has a way of multiplying as time goes on!
2. Recycle Your Lessons! As we continue to grow in our faith, our Lord teaches us many lessons. What a shame to just let them be wasted and not be shared. 2 Timothy 2:1-2, Ephesians 6:4, Deuteronomy 29:29.
3. Recycle Your Money! When we leave this earth we will leave all our earthly treasure behind. 1 Timothy 6:6-7, 2 Corinthians 9:6-11. As we use the finances our Lord has placed into our hands to help others in need or to come to faith, we lay them up in heaven.
4. Recycle Your Comfort! The good blessings that our Lord places into our hands are not just for us, they are meant to be shared with others in need. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4; Romans 15:13.

II. RECYCLING GOD’S SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS!

There are many ways this next year you could recycle your spiritual blessings?

1. Start a list of unsaved friends you would like to see saved. Luke 11:9-10.
2. Take the time to have devotions and pray with your children.
3. Simply smile. It is amazing how many doors and hearts a simple smile can open. Proverbs 15:30.

There are hundreds of ways to recycle your spiritual blessings. If you feel you might be wasting your blessings, why not ask God for the wisdom to live in such a way that nothing be wasted in your life? James 1:1-5.
