THE WORD OF GOD AND ABORTION
Jeremiah 1:4-10
INTRODUCTION: Our nation was built on a moral and spiritual foundation that originated with the very Word of God, and sadly that foundation is crumbling! In order to restore our moral and spiritual foundation we must get back to the Word of God being our primary source of truth! True morality and spirituality are not determined by a vote of the people, nor by the decision of some court. Godly morality and spirituality are determined by the Word of God! Romans 3:20. How have we fallen so far from what our founders knew to be the truth to where we are today is what we will be looking at today and how do we restore the truth in our society.
I. THE TRIAL THAT STARTED IT ALL!
On January 22, 1973, nine men dressed in black robs called the United States Supreme Court ruled that abortion was a freedom guaranteed in the constitution of the United States. The court said: “A state is forbid to subscribe any time prior to birth if in the opinion of one licensed physician and abortion is necessary to preserve the life or health of the mother.”Psalm 11:3. Only 1 % of all 63,000,000 abortions performed have anything to do with the life or health of the mother.
II. THE CONFUSION OF THE OVERTURNING OF ROE VS WADE!
What confusion there is in our nation today regarding abortion! Yes, we know the United States Supreme Court over turned Roe Vs Wade. We rejoice in that decision as a way back to our original foundational beliefs. In Dobbs Vs. Jackson, the United States Supreme Court said “the Constitution of the United States does not confer a right to abortion.” We all thought that would settle the question of abortion in America but it did not. The question on abortion went back to each individual state. Each state had to decide for itself what to do when a woman decides she does not want the baby in her womb. Today in Michigan and eighteen other states a mother may abort her baby right up to the point of the birth of her baby. Why is there such confusion across our nation as to when a woman should be able to abort her baby? The mainconfusion deals with answering this question: “When does human life begin?” While when does life begin? Genesis 1:26-28. The God of the Bible had no physical body: John 4:24; Genesis 2:7; Genesis 3:19. At the point of conception we are made in the image of God! At the point of conception we are made in the image of God: Psalm 139:13-16; Exodus 21:22-23; Isaiah 44:24; Jeremiah 1:5; Luke 1:39-45; Proverbs 6:16-19. Freedom of choice for the mother is not freedom of choice for her baby.
III. WHAT IS NEXT?
Every Christian needs to become informed about when life begins according to the Word of God! Uniformed people are uninvolved people! As we begin to be informed we can get involved in our state to help stop the murder of children in our state. Proverbs 24:11-12. If you are over 18 get registered to vote! If you are registered to vote: vote! We need to learn how to speak out for the truth of God’s Word in our area of influence, clearly and without apology! Isaiah 58:1; Proverbs 31:8-9. We must explain to our children and grandchildren what the Bible says about sex and marriage. We are to become the salt and light of this state! Matthew 5:13-16. Even if your family has had an abortion our God loves you and will forgive you and restore you. Let your God use you to help other mothers to not do the same thing you have done. Proverbs 28:13. Remember, “All that has to happen for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing!” Is it time for you to do something?
